Ooooover Whelmed!!!!!!

Next Friday we meet again and there is still so much to do on my end. However, because of the blog sites, most of my questions have been answered. The problem is time. This class work requires so much of my time because this is all new to me. But, I am learning in the process. I am overwhelmed because I am working full-time, up through the night with my 8th month old baby girl, helping my 10 year old daughter and 9 year old son with their homework, cooking for the husband and children, plus church duties, along with this class, has gotten me ooooover whelmed. I am sort of looking forward to next Friday, because I need a vacation. My mind needs to rest. Is their anyone else feeling like their mind needs to take a little breather?

"Confused" and Letting it Be Known

EDU 595: Telecommunications in Education appeared to be an exciting and interesting class in the begining. But when your not by nature a computer tech person, doing the different assignments can be a bit overwhelming. I know I am not the only one, somewhat confused on what needs to be actually done. For example, for our bookmarking, is it just a page with all the sites I bookmarked throught the internet and post them on microsoft word. The CD portfolio, how do I place all the assignments on the CD, my blog, my wiki, my bookmark, my web chat and uneset group. I hope someone can help me and I hope I can clear the air for others who are confused like me. I would greatly appreciate any help. I am a visual learning. I wish someone could show me how. Showing and telling is two different things. Please help the confused students!!!! smile

Taking Classes Online

Because I am married and have three children, also work full time, taking online classes is so comfortable for me. I can stay at home with my family and not have to worry about a babysitter or someone else to cook for my wonderful husband.

However, there have been classes that were somewhat difficult because when I don't understand something and send an email for help, at times the feedback did not come when I expected it to. I had to wait a day or two in my last class at times for a response. Eventually, I did get the help I needed.

Since it's winter time, I don't have to drive out in the snow for class but could stay in the comfort of my own home and do my class assignments.

I have also learn more about technology while taking online classes. My computer is actually becoming a close friend of mine.

Working on blackboard is helpful especially when group members are in different cities. The communication is still getting through and the assignment is getting done. I have learned so much about my computer since taking online classes.

Also, online classes helps me to discipline myself to get an assignment done in timely matter. I also, like the fact that the classes doesn't last 15 weeks but 7 or 8 weeks. This mean I can graduate sooner. smile

How do you view online classes? Do you see it as an advantage or disadvantage?

My son has Sickle Cell Anemia

I wanted to talk about being a mother who has a child with Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA). It is not easy because you never know when a person with SCA is going to have an attack.

Go to this site and it will explain more to you about SCA.
