I wanted to talk about being a mother who has a child with Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA). It is not easy because you never know when a person with SCA is going to have an attack.

What a beautiful family you have! Thank you for all of the information on your site. I never really understood what sickle cell was until I read your site just now. Your son must feel so cherished by how informed you've made yourself on his condition.

Sheila, I have had a student with this and his parents taught me alot. He missed alot of school and, at times, became quite ill and needed blood transfusions.
You are in my thoughts and prayers and I, too, take interest in some of your music and authors! We'll have to chat at class next time!
